Coherent imaging at FLASH

Journal of Physics Conference Series 186 (2009)

Authors:

HN Chapman, S Bajt, A Barty, WH Benner, MJ Bogan, S Boutet, A Cavalleri, S Duesterer, M Frank, J Hajdu, SP Hau-Riege, B Iwan, S Marchesini, A Sakdinawat, K Sokolowski-Tinten, MM Seibert, N Timneanu, R Treusch, BW Woods

Abstract:

We have carried out high-resolution single-pulse coherent diffractive imaging at the FLASH free-electron laser. The intense focused FEL pulse gives a high-resolution low-noise coherent diffraction pattern of an object before that object turns into a plasma and explodes. In particular we are developing imaging of biological specimens beyond conventional radiation damage resolution limits, developing imaging of ultrafast processes, and testing methods to characterize and perform single-particle imaging. 漏 2009 IOP Publishing Ltd.

Design of a sub 100-femtosecond X-ray streak camera

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2009)

Authors:

B Li, PP Rajeev, G Gregori, M Benetou, B Dobson, A Cavalleri, L Pickworth, P Lau, P Jaanimagi, F Read, J Lynn, D Neely

Abstract:

The temporal resolution of existing streak cameras are limited by electron transit time dispersion. Here we present a state-of-art design compensating this to achieve a breakthrough of 100fs time resolution. 漏 2009 Optical Society of America.

The XUV monochromator for ultrashort pulses at ARTEMIS

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2009)

Authors:

F Frassetto, S Bonora, P Villoresi, L Poletto, E Springate, CA Froud, ICE Turcu, DS Wolff, JL Collier, SS Dhesi, A Cavalleri

Abstract:

The XUV monochromator for ultrashort pulses at the ARTEMIS beamline is presented. It adopts an innovative configuration with gratings in the off-plane mount. The design and characterization of the monochromator are discussed. 漏 2009 Optical Society of America.
