Coherent polarons in ferromagnetic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2010)

Authors:

M F枚rst, C Manzoni, S Kaiser, Y Tomioka, Y Tokura, A Cavalleri

Abstract:

Polarons, mixed modes of solids comprising electronic and lattice excitations, underpin the electronic properties of strongly-correlated oxides. We demonstrate their coherent formation in ferromagnetic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3, enabled via direct lattice excitation in the midinfrared. 漏 OSA / UP 2010.

Controlling "mottness" in a correlated electron system via coherent vibrational excitation

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2010)

Authors:

S Kaiser, RI Tobey, N Dean, C Manzoni, H Okamoto, J Tsutsumi, T Hasegawa, A Cavalleri

Abstract:

Control of onsite electronic wavefunctions is achieved in the organic conductor (BEDT-TTF)-F2TCNQ by resonant excitation of localized molecular vibrational modes of the BEDT molecule. In this way, the onsite two-particle Coulomb repulsion can be modulated. 漏 OSA/UP 2010.

Photo-induced superconductivity in charge ordered LESCO (La1.8-xEr0.2SrxCuO4, x=0.125)

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2010)

Authors:

D Fausti, R Tobey, N Dean, S Pyon, T Takayama, H Takagi, A Cavalleri

Abstract:

Photo-excitation of Cu-O vibrations with 17 mm wavelength pulses La1.8-xEr0.2SrxCuO4 results in a quantum coherent state, revealed by the presence of a Josephson Plasma Resonance characteristic of layered superconductors. 漏 OSA / UP 2010.

Quantum interference between photo-excited states in a solid-state mott insulator

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2010)

Authors:

S Wall, D Brida, SR Clark, HP Ehrke, D Jaksch, A Ardavan, S Bonora, H Uemura, Y Takahashi, T Hasegawa, H Okamoto, G Cerullo, A Cavalleri

Abstract:

By exciting with sub-10-fs 1.6-渭m pulses the quasi-one-dimensional Mott insulator ETF2TCNQ, we observe prompt collapse of the Mott gap modulated by 24-THz oscillations of the gap, which are assigned to quantum interference between holon-doublon excitations. 漏 2010 Optical Society of America.

Single-shot detection and on-line control of carrier phase drifts of mid-IR pulses

Optics InfoBase Conference Papers (2010)

Authors:

C Manzoni, M F枚rst, H Ehrke, A Cavalleri

Abstract:

We introduce a new scheme for single-shot characterization of the absolute-phase jitter of mid-IR pulses. The system detects phase drifts of self-phase stabilized sources; a control scheme compensating long-term drifts is also demonstrated. 漏 2010 Optical Society of America.
