Measurement of the B0 - B-0 oscillation frequency using π-B meson charge-flavor correlations in pp collisions at √ s = 1.8 TeV
Physical Review Letters 80:10 (1998) 2057-2062
Abstract:
We present a measurement of the B0 ↔ B-0 oscillation frequency using a flavor tagging method based on correlations of B meson flavor with the charge of other particles produced in pp collisions at √ s = 1.8 TeV. Such correlations are expected to arise from b quark hadronization and from B** decays. We partially reconstruct B mesons using the semileptonic decays B0 → l+D(*)-X and B+ → l+D-0X. From the oscillation frequency, we obtain the mass difference between the two B0 mass eigenstates, ΔmMeasurement of the CP-violation parameter sin(2β) in B0 d/B-0 d → J/ψK0 S decays

Abstract:
The decays Î¥(4S)→BB, followed by B→D*Ï€ and D*→DÏ€, permit reconstruction of all kinematic quantities that describe the sequence without reconstruction of the D, with reasonably low backgrounds. Using an integrated e+e− luminosity of 3.1fb−1 accumulated at the Î¥(4S) by the CLEO-II detector, we report measurements of B(B0→D*+π−)=(2.81±0.11±0.21±0.05)×10−3 and B(B−→D*0π−)=(4.34±0.33±0.34±0.18) ×10−3. © 1998 The American Physical Society.Observation of B+-ψ(2³§)°+ and B0-ψ(2³§)°*(892)0 decays and measurements of B-meson branching fractions into J/ψ and ψ(2S) final states
