Measurement of bb̄ rapidity correlations in pp̄ collisions at √s=1.8 TeV
Physical Review D - Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology 61:3 (2000) 1-18
Abstract:
We report the first direct measurement of bb̄ rapidity correlations in pp̄ collisions at √=1.8 TeV. We select events with a high transverse momentum muon accompanied by a jet, and a second jet associated with a decay vertex displaced from the pp̄ interaction vertex. Two independent samples are obtained corresponding to events with a forward (2.0<|η|<2.6) or central (|η|<0.6) muon. We measure the ratio of forward to central bb̄ production to be 0.361±0.033(stat)-0.031+0.015(syst), in good agreement with the next-to-leading order QCD prediction 0.338-0.097+0.014. ©2000 The American Physical Society.Observation of radiative leptonic decay of the tau lepton.

Abstract:
Using 4.68 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data collected with the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have studied tau radiative decays tau(-)-->nu(tau)&mgr;(-)nu;(&mgr;)gamma and tau(-)-->nu(tau)e(-)nu;(e)gamma. For a 10 MeV minimum photon energy in the tau rest frame, the branching fraction for radiative tau decay to a muon or electron is measured to be (3.61+/-0.16+/-0. 35)x10(-3) or (1.75+/-0.06+/-0.17)x10(-2), respectively. The branching fractions are in agreement with standard model theoretical predictions. The Transverse Momentum and Total Cross Section of E+ E- Pairs in the Z-Boson Region from P Anti-P Collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.8-Tev
