Abstract:

We report on a search for the pair production of scalar leptoquarks (LQ), using 191pb-1 of proton-antiproton collision data recorded by the CDF experiment during Run II of the Tevatron. The leptoquarks are sought via their decay into a neutrino and quark yielding missing transverse energy and several jets of large transverse energy. No evidence for LQ production is observed, and limits are set on 蟽(pp虅鈫扡QLQ虅X鈫捨轿教剄q虅X). Using a next-to-leading order theoretical prediction of the cross section for LQ production, we exclude first-generation LQ in the mass interval 78 to 117GeV/c2 at the 95% confidence level for BR(LQ鈫捨絨)=100%. 漏 2005 The American Physical Society.

Abstract:

We report on a study of jet shapes in inclusive jet production in pp虅 collisions at s=1.96 TeV using the upgraded collider detector at Fermilab in Run II (CDF II) and based on an integrated luminosity of 170 pb-1. Measurements are carried out on jets with rapidity 0.1<|Yjet|<0.7 and transverse momentum 37GeV/c

Abstract:

Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have studied the distribution of kinematic variables in the decay 螞c+鈫捨沞+谓e. By performing a four-dimensional maximum likelihood fit, we determine the form factor ratio, R=f2/f1=-0.31卤0. 05(stat)卤0.04(syst), the pole mass, Mpole=[2.21卤0.08(stat) 卤0.14(syst)]GeV/c2, and the decay asymmetry parameter of the 螞c+, 伪螞c=-0.86卤0.03(stat)卤0.02(syst), forq2=0.67 (GeV/c2)2. We compare the angular distributions of the 螞c+ and 螞虅c- and find no evidence for CP violation: A螞c= (伪螞c+伪螞虅c)(伪螞c- 伪螞虅c)=0.00卤0.03(stat)卤0.01(syst)卤0.02, where the third error is from the uncertainty in the world average of the CP-violating parameter, A螞, for 螞鈫抪蟺-. 漏 2005 The American Physical Society.
