Abstract:

We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the 违(1S) resonance into a final state consisting of a photon and two KS0 candidates. We find evidence for a signal for 违(1S)鈫捨砯2鈥(1525); f2鈥(1525)鈫捨矺S0KS0, at a rate B(违(1S) 鈫捨砯2鈥(1525))=(4.0卤1.3卤0.6)脳10-5, consistent with previous observations of 违(1S)鈫捨砯2鈥(1525) ; f2鈥(1525)鈫扠+K-, and isospin. Combining this branching fraction with existing branching fraction measurements of 违(1S)鈫捨砯2鈥(1525) and J/蠄鈫捨砯2鈥(1525), we obtain the ratio of branching fractions: B(违(1S) 鈫捨砯2鈥(1525))/B(J/蠄鈫捨砯2鈥(1525))=0. 09卤0.02, approximately consistent with expectations based on soft-collinear effective theory. 漏 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract:

The differential cross section for the inclusive production of isolated prompt photons has been measured as a function of the photon transverse energy ET纬 in pp collisions at 鈭歴=7TeV using data recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.9pb-1. Photons are required to have a pseudorapidity |畏纬|<1.45 and ET纬>21GeV, covering the kinematic region 0.006

Abstract:

The tt虅 spin correlation at production is a fundamental prediction of QCD and a potentially incisive test of new physics coupled to top quarks. We measure the tt虅 spin state in pp虅 collisions at 鈭歴=1.96TeV using 1001 candidate events in the lepton plus jets decay channel reconstructed in the CDF II detector. In the helicity basis, for a top-quark mass of 172.5GeV/c2, we find a spin correlation coefficient 魏=0.60卤0.50(stat)卤0. 16(syst), consistent with the QCD prediction, 魏 0.40. 漏 2011 American Physical Society.
