Search for a Higgs Boson in the diphoton final state in pp虅 collisions at 鈭歴=1.96TeV

Abstract:
A search for a narrow Higgs boson resonance in the diphoton mass spectrum is presented based on data corresponding to 7.0fb-1 of integrated luminosity from pp虅 collisions at 鈭歴=1.96TeV collected by the CDF experiment. No evidence of such a resonance is observed, and upper limits are set on the cross section times branching ratio of the resonant state as a function of Higgs boson mass. The limits are interpreted in the context of the standard model and one fermiophobic benchmark model where the data exclude fermiophobic Higgs bosons with masses below 114GeV/c2 at a 95% Bayesian credibility level. 漏 2012 American Physical Society.ATLAS search for a heavy gauge boson decaying to a charged lepton and a neutrino in pp collisions at 鈭歴 =7 TeV

Abstract:
The ATLAS detector at the LHC is used to search for high-mass states, such as heavy charged gauge bosons (W使), decaying to a charged lepton (electron or muon) and a neutrino. Results are presented based on the analysis of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb鈭1. No excess beyond Standard Model expectations is observed. AW使 with Sequential Standard Model couplings is excluded at the 95% credibility level for masses up to 2.55 TeV. Excited chiral bosons (W*) with equivalent coupling strength are excluded for masses up to 2.42 TeV.Centrality dependence of dihadron correlations and azimuthal anisotropy harmonics in PbPb collisions at 鈭歋NN = 2.76 Tev

Abstract:
Measurements from the CMS experiment at the LHC of dihadron correlations for charged particles produced in PbPb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 2. 76 TeV are presented. The results are reported as a function of the particle transverse momenta (pT) and collision centrality over a broad range in relative pseudorapidity (螖畏) and the full range of relative azimuthal angle (螖蠁). The observed two-dimensional correlation structure in 螖畏 and 螖蠁 is characterised by a narrow peak at (螖畏,螖蠁)鈮(0,0) from jet-like correlations and a long-range structure that persists up to at least {pipe}螖畏{pipe}=4. An enhancement of the magnitude of the short-range jet peak is observed with increasing centrality, especially for particles of pT around 1-2 GeV/c. The long-range azimuthal dihadron correlations are extensively studied using a Fourier decomposition analysis. The extracted Fourier coefficients are found to factorise into a product of single-particle azimuthal anisotropies up to pT鈮3-3. 5 GeV/c for at least one particle from each pair, except for the second-order harmonics in the most central PbPb events. Various orders of the single-particle azimuthal anisotropy harmonics are extracted for associated particle pT of 1-3 GeV/c, as a function of the trigger particle pT up to 20 GeV/c and over the full centrality range. 漏 2012 CERN for the benefit of the CMS collaboration.Combined inclusive diffractive cross sections measured with forward proton spectrometers in deep inelastic ep scattering at HERA

Abstract:
A combination of the inclusive diffractive cross section measurements made by the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations at HERA is presented. The analysis uses samples of diffractive deep inelastic ep scattering data at a centre-of-mass energy 鈭歴= 318 Gev where leading protons are detected by dedicated spectrometers. Correlations of systematic uncertainties are taken into account, resulting in an improved precision of the cross section measurement which reaches 6 % for the most precise points. The combined data cover the range 2.5 < Q2 < 200 GeV2 in photon virtuality, 0.00035 < xP < 0.09 in proton fractional momentum loss, 0.09 <{pipe}t{pipe}< 0.55 GeV2 in squared four-momentum transfer at the proton vertex and 0.0018 < 尾 <0.816 in 尾=x/xP, where x is the Bjorken scaling variable. 漏 2012 The Author(s).Exclusive electroproduction of two pions at HERA
