Abstract:

Results of three searches are presented for the production of supersymmetric particles decaying into final states with missing transverse momentum and exactly two isolated leptons, e or 渭. The analysis uses a data sample collected during the first half of 2011 that corresponds to a total integrated luminosity of 1fb-1 of s=7TeV proton-proton collisions recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Opposite-sign and same-sign dilepton events are separately studied, with no deviations from the Standard Model expectation observed. Additionally, in opposite-sign events, a search is made for an excess of same-flavour over different-flavour lepton pairs. Effective production cross sections in excess of 9.9 fb for opposite-sign events containing supersymmetric particles with missing transverse momentum greater than 250 GeV are excluded at 95% CL. For same-sign events containing supersymmetric particles with missing transverse momentum greater than 100 GeV, effective production cross sections in excess of 14.8 fb are excluded at 95% CL. The latter limit is interpreted in a simplified electroweak gaugino production model excluding chargino masses up to 200 GeV, under the assumption that slepton decay is dominant. 漏 2012 CERN.

Abstract:

A search for the standard model Higgs boson is performed in the diphoton decay channel. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.9fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 鈭歴=7TeV. In the diphoton mass range 110-150GeV, the largest excess with respect to the background-only hypothesis is observed at 126.5GeV, with a local significance of 2.8 standard deviations. Taking the look-elsewhere effect into account in the range 110-150GeV, this significance becomes 1.5 standard deviations. The standard model Higgs boson is excluded at 95% confidence level in the mass ranges of 113-115GeV and 134.5-136GeV. 漏 2012 CERN.

Abstract:

In this Letter, we present a precise measurement of the total ZZ production cross section in pp虅 collisions at 鈭歴=1.96TeV, using data collected with the CDF II detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 6fb-1. The result is obtained by combining separate measurements in the four-charged (鈥测) and two-charged-lepton and two-neutral-lepton (谓谓) decay modes of the Z boson pair. The combined measured cross section for pp虅鈫抁Z is 1.64-0.38+0.44pb. This is the most precise measurement of the ZZ production cross section in 1.96 TeV pp虅 collisions to date. 漏 2012 American Physical Society.

Abstract:

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson production in association with a W boson in proton-antiproton collisions (pp虅鈫扺 卤H鈫捨絙b虅) at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The search employs data collected with the CDF II detector which correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 2.7fb -1. We recorded this data with two kinds of triggers. The first kind required high-p T charged leptons and the second required both missing transverse energy and jets. The search selects events consistent with a signature of a single lepton (e 卤/渭 卤), missing transverse energy, and two jets. Jets corresponding to bottom quarks are identified with a secondary vertex tagging method and a jet probability tagging method. Kinematic information is fed in an artificial neural network to improve discrimination between signal and background. The search finds that both the observed number of events and the neural network output distributions are consistent with the standard model background expectations, and sets 95% confidence level upper limits on the production cross section times branching ratio. The limits are expressed as a ratio to the standard model production rate. The limits range from 3.6 (4.3 expected) to 61.1 (43.2 expected) for Higgs masses from 100 to 150GeV/c2, respectively. 漏 2012 American Physical Society.
