Observation of electroweak single top-quark production
Physical Review Letters 103:9 (2009)
Abstract:
We report the observation of single top-quark production using 3.2fb-1 of pp̄ collision data with s=1.96TeV collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The significance of the observed data is 5.0 standard deviations, and the expected sensitivity for standard model production and decay is in excess of 5.9 standard deviations. Assuming mt=175GeV/c2, we measure a cross section of 2.3-0.5+0.6(stat+syst)pb, extract the CKM matrix-element value |Vtb|=0.91±0.11(stat+syst)±0.07(theory), and set the limit |Vtb|>0.71 at the 95% C.L. © 2009 The American Physical Society.Measurement of the Inclusive Isolated Prompt Photon Cross Section in $p\barp$ Collisions at $\sqrts=1.96$ TeV using the CDF Detector

Search for the Higgs Boson Produced in Association with Z→ℓ+ℓ- in pp̄ Collisions at s=1.96TeV
Physical Review Letters 101:25 (2008)
Abstract:
We present a search for the Higgs boson in the process qq̄→ ZH→ℓ+ℓ-bb̄. The analysis uses an integrated luminosity of 1fb-1 of pp̄ collisions produced at s=1.96TeV and accumulated by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF II). We employ artificial neural networks both to correct jets mismeasured in the calorimeter and to distinguish the signal kinematic distributions from those of the background. We see no evidence for Higgs boson production, and set 95% C.L. upper limits on σZHB(H→bb̄), ranging from 1.5 to 1.2 pb for a Higgs boson mass (mH) of 110 to 150GeV/c2. © 2008 The American Physical Society.Search for standard model Higgs boson production in association with a W boson at CDF
