As communications lead, I oversee both internal and external communication for the Department of Physics. I am responsible for using our communications channels to support the delivery of our departmental strategy.
For internal comms, we have a monthly e-newsletter that goes out to staff and we will be working on a new intranet project; for external comms, we publish Department of Physics news on our website which is promoted on our social media channels. For dedicated media releases, I work with the central university's Public Affairs Directorate.
I work with colleagues across the department including alumni relations, development, outreach and enterprise as well as our academics and researchers to help to share the groundbreaking work that takes place here.
