Time resolved photoluminescence of electroluminescent polymer blends and organic microstructures

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe - Technical Digest (2000) 366

Authors:

MD Rahn, J Hill, A Buckley, J Cabanillas, AM Fox, DG Lidzey, T Virgili, DDC Bradley, D Bowley

Abstract:

The time resolved photoluminescent analysis was conducted for luminescent organic devices. The picosecond resolution was obtained as a laser emitting source was used to excite the organic samples. Spectrographs were used to image the photoluminescence effect as spectral and temporal information was collected. The photoluminescence intensity data was compared with the corresponding wavelengths for polyfluorene-based polymer blends. The energy dynamics of the system was also investigated.

Ultrafast Forster transfer in a highly fluorescent polymer blend

Conference on Lasers and Electro Optics Europe Technical Digest (2000) 272

Authors:

G Cerullo, G Lanzani, M Nisoli, S Stagira, S De Silvestri, T Virgili, DG Lidzey, DDC Bradley

Abstract:

Ultrafast Forster energy transfer in poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene)(PFO) doped with tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) was investigated. Singlet exciton decay was shown to affect the dynamics observed in the pure PFO. Forster energy transfer from PFO to TPP was found to be efficient due to the good overlap between PFO emission and TPP absorption spectra.
